You can call it a smoke cloud, or sound scholarly and call it a
pyrocumulonimbus flammagenitus, which means "smoke cloud."

 

I have lived long, but never saw a really good example of this until this
past month, when I saw it on two occasions:

If you use the full technical name, the sounds a  bit like several nimble

Science is really cool that way: if someone calls you on it, you get to act
