Well sure, but a robot mate can have adjustable personality according to
one's mood and evolving taste.  In that sense, a single robot mate could
operate as the equivalent of a harem I suppose.

 

The notion of AI as a threat to humanity is based on machines out-competing
humans in one task after another.  A sexbot with interchangeable parts,
replaceable everything, never ages, never gets sick, never cops an attitude,
adjustable personality including accents or languages, that could be a most
difficult rival against which to compete.
