Microplastics are the size of dust grains. I am not sure there is an 
feasible way to gather enough of it to turn it into syngas. Plastics in 
general are an effective way to stably sequester carbon and keep it out 
the atmosphere. I think the climate would be better off if we just kept 
the plastic in landfills and use dead wood and underbrush to make syngas 
and diesel. This would make it economical and profitable to clear 
fire-prone areas like California of kindling and fuel for wildfires.
