*I see… but you didn't answer my question about the drastic cuts to
fundamental scientific research (like LIGO) as well as practical medical
research. The National Institute of Health has had to cancel over 1,800
grants due to its budget being devastated, and the results were clumsy and
brutal. For example there was a human trial testing a promising technique
of using the body's own immune cells to combat gastrointestinal cancers,
but He Who Must Not Be Named abruptly canceled it when the study was only
half complete rendering the entire thing scientifically invalid. Now they
will have to start from scratch. *

*And it's not just the NIH, a Veterans Affairs hospital was months into a
trial of a new drug to treat advanced cancers of the mouth, throat and
voice box, but it too was canceled halfway through and that too will delay
its widespread adoption by years. Those cuts are going to kill people, and
some of those people could turn out to be you or me. *

*One way or the other this is going to end up biting You Know Who in the
ass because as Richard Feynman has said "For a successful technology,
reality must take precedence over public relations, for nature cannot be
fooled."*

*Oh and by the way, He Who Must Not Be Named is INCREASING the military
budget by 13.4%.*
