What I've read suggests this is a hard "yes", and the worker-selves
are treated as slaves with no rights because those rights are retained
exclusively by the non-worker-selves.  One can imagine legal
challenges arising, wherein each of the individuals is entitled to
full bodily autonomy but they only have one body between them.

Again, apparently a hard "yes" according to the series.  This is among
the reasons why it is easy to imagine that certain corporate overlords
would favor this technology.
