Ah, thermal mass.  Ben I missed that, but I can be excused, for I have lived only in places where homes are built of sticks.  I cheerfully misspent my tragically squandered youth in Florida, where we don’t have stones and even if we did, the “soil” is sand, which generally will not support the load of a typical British home such as the one shown above.  In California we have not the option of stone construction: a prole would be building his own pyramid tomb, to be constructed at the first earthquake.  We get a lotta those around here. 

 

In Florida, eeeeevery prole has AC.  I know this for my family were the last ones to get it, in 1966, dead last we were.

Ben, I toured Britain a coupla years ago.  We loved it!  I would soooo live in that place, particularly Ireland, near the ancestral homeland (Skibbereen.)  You live in a beautiful country Ben.
