Can you expand on that?

I reached back in time to State of the Art of Computer Animation (1988) on
vhs to wow nerds buying rear projection big tv.  Over the course of
chatting, i realized what i was trying to recover was the sense of wonder
and excitement that was happening.  So much of now is recycled and
derivative that "latest and greatest" is feeling a little too late and not
that great.

During the conversation,  Gemini looked up my friend from college who
shared foundational concepts in Topology and introduced me to GEB.  It
would be cool if he replied to my comments on his arXiv paper.

Anyway, your comment above was striking for "computer science" and the
exact time period I was discussing.  Maybe it's "just" synchronicity, but
if you had specifics in mind when you made that reference,  I'm interested
in the details.
