At the 7:44 mark, this entertaining YouTube commentator observes that JP Morgan Chase now employs more people in Texas than in New York.

I have long considered it a bad idea to have a really big city with the same name as the state, for not everyone says New York City.  So now I don’t know if he meant more Texas JP Morganers in Texas than in New York City or in New York state.

 

This leads to the question: if the New York Stock Exchange migrates out of the city and state, will it become the Dallas Stock Exchange or the Texas Stock Exchange?  

 

Along those lines we saw Starbucks HQ leave Seattle for lower priced and lower tax office space in Tennessee.  Since cost savings are important in the high-priced coffee market, their direct competitors will likely need to follow, but if so, will they need to change their name to Nashville’s Best Coffee?

 

The mind boggles.
