Keith, I failed to carry out my idea last time this came up in this medium. The entrance to a commercial beehive is a narrow slot. Bees can fly thru it, but murder hornets must walk thru. So place two electrified copper strips across the entrance, far enough apart the bees can’t span it but the hornets are murdered.

I like the idea of a laser bug zapper as much as anyone but that electrified copper strip idea is cheaper and easy to install: a strip of tape with copper strips on either side and wires soldered on. Won’t those murderous hornets be surprised: they have successfully eaten dozens of beehives, then one sunny day when some Jacobin murder hornet least expects it, le hive suddenly explodes, ending his reign of terror, turning him into a french fry.
