That doesn't mean I deserve the credit for the invention.  Indeed, a LLM could in theory do that part of my role, with a similarly broad knowledge of what tech was out there along with a good enough model of what the technologies are, what they do, and how they apply to problems.

The scoundrels stole your idea before you thought of it.  Happens to me often.  I try to sue their asses, but they just laugh me out of the courtroom.  So many of them just get away with pre-stealing my ideas!

Adrian you are one of the fellers who have been around here a long time.  I recall your being at either Extro3 or Extro4.  That was the one where Robert Bradbury practically had a tantrum when one of the panel speakers opined that germline modification would never be done in humans.  Do you recall which one that was?  Sasha Chislenko gave a very impassioned speech.  It was at Berkeley in about... 199... 7?  1998?  We were younger then than we are now.
