Cool, Brett, lets make some bets.  I will bet ya 100 respectars that this year, 2026, breaks the record, woohoo!

 

Note: a respectar is a form of exchange medium which is easy to transfer because it is imaginary: each respectar is a dollar’s worth of respect, to endure until the heat death of the universe or until I forget, whichever comes first.  Or if one is mathematically oriented, 100i dollars.  Engineers like to put the i up front, so i100 dollars.

 

Why 100 respectars?  In my political betting, I make it a strict policy to never own more than 100 shares of anything.  This keeps it to play money.  Besides that, Brett I already have a great deal of respect for you.  100 respectars is nothing.  You will never miss it if you lose, nor notice it if you win.

 

This one is more than a game really, for we are likely in a time of climate change.  I have inquired regarding why it is that we always assume climate change is for the worse.  Seems like just by chance it should improve the climate half the time in half the places.  We have noted some jarring changes in this forum such as the fact that there are suddenly way fewer insects than we used to have.  I made a 1900 mile trip to Spokane recently and hit exactly one bug.  I drove 1100 miles in eastern Kentucky and West Virginia last week, never did clean the windshield of my rental car.  Didn’t need to.  Granted the bug-out is not necessarily a climate thing, but the hurricane record might point to a climate effect.
