As recently as our great grandparents’ early adulthood, a long blackout wasn’t a coupla weeks after a bad storm, it was always.
If your ancestors lived in Florida, their misery was compounded by huge omnipresent ravenous clouds of mosquitoes, and oh those needlenose bitches meant business. They were out for blood, and they would get yours.
John how long has it been since you saw a cloud of mosquitoes? Can you go outdoors and get no bites at all now? I was down there about a year ago and got exactly one mosquito bite in an entire week, no deer flies (remember those? (and for that matter, no horseflies (remember those? (where the heck did the biting flies go? (note I am not complaining, just asking.)))))
OK so you get all stone age grumpy when you go without electricity for a week or two, kinda like me when the internet goes down for a few minutes (ok so I am an addict (can’t help myself (I looooove information (the more the better (it’s freeeee (oh evolution, what a time to be living (if I were to write an epic novel about our times, it would start with: It was the best of times, it was the best of times.))))))
With all that, aaaaaalllll thaaaaat… how the hell can anyone be a grumpy bear?
