We may not disagree very much.

My main point is that when competition
is the only value, then the most ruthless
people will win because they don't care
about other people.

I would suggest that although psychopaths
sometimes win, their gain is only temporary
because the more normal people around
them, who are often their victims, see them
for what they are, and pull them down.

Over the long run, companies run with a
considerable measure of empathy will do
better because they will elicit better efforts
from their people.
