--Unfortunately, personal attacks work better for
Republicans than Democrats (it's a bit like the high
school nerd trying to one-up the jocks with insults,
it just backfires). Better if Democrats take the high
road, because mudslinging only works for the jocks. If
Republicans alone were using personal attacks, there'd
be some chance of it backfiring, but if Democrats are
too quick to sink to that level, it will backfire
against them instead.
