[Paleopsych] A core liberal belief

I would say that one core value for liberals
is the belief that cooperation is just as
important as competition.

This notion arises from the limbic brain,
even as the notion of competition arises
from the reptilian brain.

For liberals, family values extend beyond
the boundaries of the biological family.

In practical terms, this results in all of
those programs that form the social
safety net.

The effort to abolish all of these programs
is regressive, since it goes against the
empathic tendencies of the newer parts
of the brain.
