[extropy-chat] Firefox 2 [was: The End of Science]

Installed Firefox 2 last night on the promise of the "restore session"
feature, and _very_ well worth it for that alone! No more having to try to
manually recover tens of tabs on every reboot. (If you install it, make sure
to set the option for restore session on regular shutdown as well as crash.)

It's a nice example of a general point: Technological progress isn't just
about making things possible that weren't before; Firefox 2 can't do
anything earlier web browsers couldn't do in principle. It's also, very
much, about increasing the range of things you can _take for granted_ so you
don't have to worry about them anymore and you can use them as building
blocks.
