Point.

On the other hand, do US politicians who presumably accept scientific 
knowledge always duck the question? Has anyone importantly placed 
spoken out, whether vigorously or reluctantly, in favor of evolutionary theory?

Will US schools also "teach the controversy" on astrology, NASA's 
Moon-landing hoax, the Grey rectal-probing invasion, and other vexed 
topics of national concern?
