Well, I was the first in my circle of friends
to use the word as a verb, because I remember
one of them making a note of the fact that I
did.

So I'm probably just ahead of the curve here
somehow, too...   :-)

Ah. Very good. So this strong form obviates "for".

Maybe it just seems like an ugly word, and too
hard to say (at least for the past tense like here).
