What must it look like from inside the mind of an Alzheimer's patient? From
our point of view, the decline is long and gradual, heartbreaking. But from
the point of view of the patient, they are unable to recall the decline, not
sensing the development of the disease. From their point of view, they were
well just yesterday. Today, they are lost in their own home, suddenly
finding themselves old, not recognizing themselves in the mirror, married
over half a century to one who now appears to be a stranger. Oy vey, what a
cruel disease.
