Someone tell me if this is correct, but I heard that while methane is a
more vigorous contributor to global warming (10x to 20x), it also breaks
down in the atmosphere over time, while CO2 does not. So it is a shorter
term issue than CO2, and the overall contribution is less impactful.

There is no way to stop fracking politically. This is going to save the
Obama administration from their own bumbling in a similar way to how the
Internet bubble and cell phones saved Bill Clinton, IMNSHO.
