Have you tried Celestia?  http://www.shatters.net/celestia/
Runs on windows, mac and linux.
You can get some pretty amazing displays. Setting the location to Triton,
date 1/1/3000 and centering the view in the direction of Earth only takes
one minute, although it does not seem to recalculate planets' apparent
magnitudes...
