### Bank failures, including loss of access to cash, are very unlikely to
cause failure of the whole economic system. There is a large number of
cases of such failures, none of which brought about societal collapse. Some
of the more recent ones are the Icelandic, Greek and Irish bank failures
but there is a long history of these.

So don't worry, if worst comes to worst, money is reliably re-invented by
monetization of previously non-monetary assets and by appearance of
peer-to-peer credit.
