The Google paper that was briefly posted said that they proved "*Quantum
speedup is achievable in a real-world system and is not precluded by any
hidden physical laws"*, and they predict " *quantum computing power will
grow at a double exponential rate*".

Double exponential rate? That's starting to sound a bit like a singularity.
