Florida came later, me lad.  My family came from West Virginia and Kentucky.  I had (I think) 8 direct ancestors in the war, and all were yanks except one, and we think the one guy was drafted.  

Regarding being conscripted into the confederacy: that brings up some interesting questions in itself.

Now it might be we could be called carpet baggers, but the family didn’t go to Florida until the early 1960s.
