Needlessly lost. Thus "the cryonicist's lament". Burdened by
dismissive ridicule, the cryonicist can only stand and watch as the
old paradigm, blocks hope for the living and rescue for the dying.

Can only stand and watch that is, so long as the cryonics orgs and
community proscribe a more proactive approach-- outreach to families
of the terminally ill -- on the grounds that it is the equivalent of
"ambulance chasing", and will UNAVOIDABLY provoke a destructive
backlash from the mainstream.

I disagree, and believe it time to dispense with this fear-driven view
in favor of a thoughtful outreach program directed to the family
members of the terminally ill. Clearly, opposition/backlash is to be
anticipated and prepared for.
