I don't think that's true, Washington could have easily made himself
dictator but he chose not to, and when his second term was over he quietly
went back to his farm; on a list of victorious generals that makes him
almost unique, the only other one like that I can think of is the Roman
General Cincinnatus. I don't think Eisenhower wanted to be a dictator
either but he couldn't have done it easily even if he had. But Trump does
want to be dictator and he already has the Senate and the Supreme Court in
his pocket, not to mention the Attorney General.
