Ja Dave keep in mind the corner of education in which I am most familiar is STEM, which is really better suited for online video training. Billw’s expertise is specific to the area of psychology, which I think is more dependent on professor interaction and classroom interaction of students with each other. Humans somehow defy being modeled by a system of simultaneous differential equations. But we are working that problem.
Undergraduate engineering education, most technology, the hard sciences (the kind which are rigidly structured with equations (lotsa marvelous equations (in all their refulgent glory (equations are my friends)))) and all fields of math are well-suited for completely asynchronous online video education.
I think back on my own engineering education: that could have all been done online with video.
Excellent example, check this. I am astonished at how good this guy is:

I saw Steve’s presentation of optimal nonlinear control theory, and was hooked!
(229) Nonlinear Control: Hamilton Jacobi Bellman (HJB) and Dynamic Programming - YouTube <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hO-AnFYm6M>
This was the best explanation of the mind-bending Hamilton Jacobi Bellman function I have ever heard. Too bad Steve wasn’t around 30 years ago. Excellent engineering education is now free to anyone anywhere on the planet with an internet connection. How cool is that?
Fun aside: if a prole really really knows the hell outta the HJB equation (referenced above), knows all the gritty details, how to use it, how to solve it with all the modern dynamic programming techniques, that prole can make a good living just doing her favorite thing. Full disclosure: I am not one of those proles. I admire those who have a good handle on HJB theory but tragically, I suck. I know a local prole who is really good at it (and is making a good living with that skill (the equation I meant.))
