Nice one!

This inspires a further thought about someone who has a series of arms they
switch between.  In fact, the old series Megaman can be seen that way, as
the protagonist keeps getting new arms with inbuilt implements he must
quickly master the use of, swapping between them on the fly.

Alternatively, "skilled at using their lost arm" might imply the arm has
some functionality even after it is "lost" (removed), perhaps as a zombie
arm or other drone-like construct.
