Some of the members on this list strongly support Elon Musk’s acquisition of twitter. My experience, however, is growing negative. I have noticed a significant decrease in the quality of tweets that show in my feed. I’ve been flooded with cookie cutter exaggerations from influencer types who have paid at least $8 per month for twitter blue which promotes their tweets above the rest. Twitter now feels like an advertising platform where tweets are ranked according to the amount of money influencers pay to promote their tweets rather than by wit and merit.

I must admit that I generally like capitalism, but I don’t think the pay to win views approach is good for social media. I much prefer a fairer playing field where posts are not ranked based on money, but rather popularity derived from originality and ingenuity. I am okay with a few ads, but having every high ranking post be more or less an ad degrades the experience for me.
