Well, John, who will 'oil the machines'?  AIs will make mistakes from small
and inconsequential, all the way up to taking over.  Who or what is going
to oversee the AIs and catch the mistakes?  Will the truth be an average of
what the AIs think?  In what circumstance will humans be needed to rewrite
the software?
No AI that will ever exist can accurately predict all the ramifications
ofAI actions.  All an AI can do is hope that conditions remain much the
same as they are now.  That will sometimes be wrong.
I do acknowledge that people below the mean IQ are going to be
superfluous.   bill w
