Ja.  Plenty of members of the press started long after the printing press went away.

 

CNN has a bigger audience than we do.  Granted, it could be most of CNNs audience are people in airports hurrying to their gate or elderly patients where the nurse forgot to turn off the TV.  But… our audience is only a few fellers with nothing better to do than publish our breezy opinions.  CNN’s audience is probably bigger.  We and CNN are publishing however.  We are the press.  We have freedom!  No one has arrested us for what we published.  We do not have the right to attend White House press briefings.
