The American people have chosen a foreign news source as their arbiter of truth.

 

AdWeek tracks audience as their business.  Our three leading cable news sources are MSNBC, CNN and Fox.  Fox is Australian, the other two are USian.  Here's how they voted with their eyes.

 

All three agencies peaked in the 2020 election cycle.

 

Since then, MSNBC changed its name to MSNOW, at which time its audience loss leveled out.  Apparently the problem all along was their audience hated their name.  In any case, MSNOW grew from 2.2 million to 940k in those six years:

 



 

CNN grew from 1.8 million to 624 million:

 



 

Fox grew from 3.6 million to 2.55 million:

 



 

All three lost audience.  Now CNN is suing for access to the White House.  They don’t try to explain why it is that nearly 2/3 of their audience went elsewhere in the past six years.  I have an idea however: TwitterX is a better place for news, for it has a broader spectrum of views there.  GoogleAI tells me TwitterX has about 250 million daily active users.  That’s better than our approximately a dozen of us here.
