Corporations have had a lot of succes improving
their performance by mapping and improving
their processes and then monitoring themselves
(ISO 9000 etc) to make sure that processes
are consistently executed.

The same thing would apply to the disease care
business, which at this point is an out-of-control
oligopoly.

They also talk about large numbers of deaths
from preventable medical errors- their own phrase.
They are paying some attention to this, but I
think the public, and government as the publc's
agent needs to pay a lot more attention, and
demand better performance.
