Well, my colleague Paul Davies published a book called THE RUNAWAY 
UNIVERSE back in 1979. Can't recall whether he had the amazing 
insight to propose an *accelerating* expansion, but he was pushing 
for a revival of the cosmological constant, which was very 
unfashionable at the time.

Which gamma ray burst explanation are you thinking of? I've read 
about a whole variety. You mean that they're extragalactic? Jets?
