 Ja, and two of those locations are in the southern hemisphere, so they can’t see the farthest north targets.  The Mauna Kea thirty meter will be able to peer up there.

 

There are less desirable alternatives, such as Sierra de San Pedro Martir in Mexico, lower down.  The Mexican government would like to see it placed there and it might have some advantages.  Of course the environmentalists and religionistas will be there as well with their hands out, but that is the way it goes now.
